GI Biome is applying to MFDS for IND of its microbiome-based oncology drug candidate 'GB-X01' in September. After signing a clinical sample production contract with Biose Industrie, the company is actualizing its plan for the commercialization of its microbiome assets.
Kim Young-Seok, the CEO of GI Biome, said at a corporate briefing, "We are preparing with the goal of submitting an IND for the phase 1 clinical trial of GB-X01 in September this year." He added, "We think it can possibly act as a 'booster' when used in combination with existing chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or NK cell therapy."
