Many Korean ventures are taking on the challenge of developing new microbiome drugs, as there is currently no market leader in this space. GI Biome, created as a joint venture between GI Innovation and Mediogen, is also participating in this microbiome fever and plans to begin phase 1 clinical trial for new cancer drug in the second half of this year. The company also seeks to increase profits by establishing a contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) base in the first half of next year.


GI Biome has recently executed a corporate introduction, introducing its new drug R&D pipeline, the expansion of its non-clinical trial contract development (CRDO) and bioinformatics (BI) services, as well as its probiotics products. The company also revealed its plan for an initial public offering.
