On the 1st, GI Biome, an affiliate of GI Innovation and a microbiome therapeutics company, announced the commencement of patient dosing for the Phase 1 clinical trial of their colorectal cancer microbiome drug, 'GB-X01.'
This clinical trial, conducted at Samsung Seoul Hospital, targets patients who have undergone radical resection surgery for colorectal cancer and completed standard treatment. The study aims to assess the safety and tolerability of GB-X01, as well as to observe changes in the composition of gut microbiota before and after administration. The trial will involve a total of 9 patients (up to 18 patients) with a 4-week dosing period and an additional 4-week follow-up observation period. Anticipated results from the Phase 1 trial are expected to be secured in the latter half of this year.
